My name is Dee, I'm 38 and married with two children. I live in Barking and have mainly been a stay-at-home mum looking after my two children. Over the years of motherhood I realised that for years prior to having my own children I used to spend a lot of my time looking after and helping with friends and family. Becoming a Doula was a natural fit for me.

My mum fostered many children, so I was always there supporting her with the babies we looked after.

Birth and postnatal is a crucial time for both mother and baby. I feel that the focused attention a doula gives a mum helps the mum to relax both while in labour and postnatally. I feel that while in labour the more relaxed the labouring woman is the easier the labour will be.
As your doula I will help to eliminate any distractions so that you can focus solely on listening to your body or if I'm helping postnatally supporting you while you bond with your baby.

I am a doula because I like to help, I like to give that support to women that sometimes can be overlooked at that precious time. Having a doula would give the new mum or mum to be that precious time to be mothered herself.
